Hello from Owlbert

Owlbert is a learning app for children, made by Bare Metal Labs. Kids practice at their own pace; parents see how it’s going. We designed it privacy-first, and we’d like to show our work. This blog explains how Owlbert is built, plainly and honestly, including what it doesn’t do.

How a day of practice works

A parent chooses how many minutes a day (10 to 90, 30 unless changed). Owlbert builds that day’s plan once, the first time the child opens it, and keeps it if they come back later.
